What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll be at the forefront of managing and maintaining database systems, ensuring they run seamlessly. You’ll be designing and implementing databases, monitoring availability, planning for capacity, and setting up effective disaster recovery strategies. You’ll also keep databases secure and troubleshoot issues while making sure everything is documented. Beyond this, you’ll be upgrading systems, managing database patches, and ensuring continuous growth and performance of database solutions, contributing directly to the company’s strategic goals.

What you’ll need

At least 5 years of experience in database administration, working with both Microsoft and Open-Source environments. A qualification like CompTIA DataSys+ or Data+ will be essential, alongside experience in system monitoring, governance controls, and server upgrades. A solid understanding of database management systems (such as MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and experience with technologies like Linux, Windows Server, Docker, and VMware will be crucial.
