A small CV detail that can make a big difference…
Always include your area of residence on your CV, and whether you are willing to relocate.
For example:
• Cape Town, Northern Suburbs
• Johannesburg (North)
• Cape Town, Northern Suburbs – willing to relocate nationally
Why this matters:
When roles attract high volumes of applications, recruiters often need to quickly assess location fit.
If your CV doesn’t clearly state where you’re based, or whether relocation is an option, it may be overlooked, even if you’re a strong match.
If you’re based in Joburg and applying for a Cape Town role but open to relocating, say it.
Don’t make the reader guess.
Sometimes it’s not about suitability, it’s about clarity.
A small tweak, but it can protect your CV from being filtered out unnecessarily.
